I stand on the sands of time looking out to a fathomless sea From its depths, life rolls in to me The life of joy – the sparkle of its waters Rubbing up against the glad shore The salty sea breeze blowing in a new day Blowing in the promise of food from its abundant waters A lifetime of sameness has lulled me on the beach I trust the waters as I trust the sun My village is home To ten thousand memories rolling in one after another Like the sea in my mind before sleep I’ve made peace with this world Or maybe the peace has made me Everything is gentle here, reflecting grace And I have become a part of the ocean My soul is placid Like the waters sparkling in my mind
